Nilaa and Veinnill finally watched the play. Came across a few familiar faces, the most obvious of course being the co-director and the emcee for the night, Nigel.

It was an entertaining piece. Our favourite picks would have to  be:

• Blanche – Played by the main director himself, this role was given a comedic part in the play. Very entertaining.
• The main character – D’Artagnan – was actually played by a girl!! She’s also one of the co-directors. She played the character well. In fact, more “musketeer-ey” than many of the guys, we must say. Go girl!
• The Cardinal – Powerful singing and wonderful acting.
• The sound effects – Referring to the gun shot sounds in particular. Rather realistic.
• Venue – Exclusively built for that purpose, the school auditorium was a good choice of venue (the school has its annual plays there).
• The band – Before the play and during the interval, the school band (ie: guitarists and vocalist) rocked it out. Good display of talent.

All in, the play did have room for improvement. Nevertheless, good effort by all for making it a success.

On May 25th Tarcisian Convent Chor Team competed in a choir competition against 12 other school. Their placing at 3rd place was astonishing. The girls gave a great performance and got an ever cheering crowd. Their pianist Naomi and conductor Syazana led the team well. According to team member Veinnill the members put in great effort to produce a wonderful performance. Take a look for your self in the videos section

After months of rehearsing, we are finally getting through the final weeks of preparation. As mentioned in the flyer above, the plays will be held in City Ballet Black Box on the 4th and 5th of July at 8pm. It is in the Greentown Business Centre.

The tickets are priced at RM15.00. Contact PSPA for further enquiries. The tickets can be paid for upon entry but, they have to be booked earlier.

In short, it is a collection of short plays performed by the young people of Ipoh under the guidance of Sylvia Wong, organised by the Perak Society of Performing Arts (PSPA). You can look them up on Facebook as well.
